A handful of suspects were arrested and charged for their alleged involvement in the burglaries of Walgreens stores in different states. \

On Aug. 8, five men were arrested, charged, and incarcerated in the Phelps County Jail. All five men are facing charges of Second Degree Burglary, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, First Degree Property Damage, and Possession of Burglary Tool's.

The suspects identified by police are 26 year-old Jeremy Phillips, 26 year-old Mich Lazaro, 28 year-old Walter Dallas, 22 year-old Anthony Smith, and 26 year-old Raymond Ford.

On Tuesday, around 5:30 a.m., Rolla Police received a call for a burglary-in-progress at a Rolla Walgreens in the 100 block of S. Bishop Avenue. Responding officers found a forced entry into the building through the pharmacy drive-thru window, the department said. While officers were working at the crime scene, Rolla Police said the department received information from Walgreen Corporate Security and from the Houston Police Department, in Texas.

Using the information from the two entities, Rolla Police said they believed the two incidents to be possibly related.

Suspect descriptions and vehicle information that were believed to be involved in the Rolla incident were distributed to area law enforcement agencies.

An hour later, Missouri State Highway Patrol stopped two vehicles, containing five subjects that matched the suspect descriptions. Rolla Police said during the traffic stop, evidence relating to the Rolla Walgreens incident were found in the vehicles. These materials included narcotics, burglary tools, clothing, masks, and sledge hammers.

All five men were arrested by police and taken into custody. Each individual's bond is set at $500,000.

Police determined, following a follow-up investigation, that all five men were a part of a large organized crime group based out of Houston, Texas. It is also believed these five were connected to numerous incidents throughout the Midwest, Rolla Police said.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing by Rolla Police's Criminal Investigation Unit and the Houston Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Derrick Dillon at 573-308-1213. The Rolla Police Confidential Police Line is also available at 573-364-0111.
