Police in O'Fallon, Mo. are warning about a phone scam targeting local businesses.
They say two businesses have been contacted by someone claiming to be a city employee.
The caller claims the business is behind on the utility bill and asks for payment via gift card.
Police warn that this is indeed a scam, and you should hang up and contact them immediately.
