We’re two weeks away from the Total Eclipse and now there’s a song about it that you can add to your playlist.

Shadi Frick and Mike Baltz co-wrote the song because where they live in Carbondale, Illinois, is buzzing about the upcoming August 21 event.

“We don’t know what to expect so the lyrics ‘we will survive the eclipse’ is sort of like the mantra down here,” said Baltz who is responsible for the lyrics.

Baltz grew up in Millstadt, Illinois.

Baltz is Frick's personal trainer and they've been collaborating on music for about a year and the historic eclipse just felt like the perfect opportunity for a tune.

The song is titled “The Eclipse”.

You find it anywhere you download music including iTunes and Sound Cloud.

Frick is a local band teacher in Carbondale and said his students don’t know yet he co-wrote the song, but his family is sure excited.

“It’s something they’ve never, I’ve never experienced before so it’s exciting and a little scary I think for all of us,” said Frick.

The song runs 2:41 which is the projected viewing time of the eclipse in Carbondale.
