ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Good News! Missouri is including diapers as an item included in their tax-free weekend!

If you're a parent, you know how expensive diapers can be.

According to Investopedia:

  • The average child will use more than 2,700 diapers in the first year alone, which can add up to more than $550
  • Disposables can be had for as low as $0.15 with coupons or parents can pay $1.40 per diaper to import them from Japan.
  • A cloth diaper service will cost you around $70 per month and doing the dirty work yourself at home with cloth diapers will cost you anywhere from $250 and up to get the materials needed upfront.

Now is the time to take advantage of the tax-free weekend in Missouri and stock up on diapers!

The tax-free weekend will begin at 12:01 a.m. Friday, August 4 and run through Sunday, August 6.

During the weekend, state sales tax will not be charged throughout Missouri but not all cities are participating, which means city sales tax will be still be charged in some areas. Click here for a list of cities opting out.
