ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

One St. Louis Alderman is not giving up on Major League Soccer in St. Louis.

"I have been hearing rumblings and I have certainly no facts," says alderman Joe Vaccaro.

This week, the website SoccerNation.com, reported there are whispers of reviving the St. Louis bid, which ended in April when voters rejected public funding of a stadium.

"There are enough big businesses in the city of St. Louis that could and hopefully will step up to the plate," Vaccaro says.

Currently, 12 cities are trying to win four expansion teams in the MLS.

Some fans are being cautious about the rumors.

"It brings back hurt more than hope at this point," says Mitch Morice of the soccer fan club, St. Louligans.
