JENNINGS (KMOV.com) -

A Jennings boy is an author and entrepreneur before he’s even a teenager.

Michael “Mikey” Wren wanted to learn about starting a business, but his parents couldn’t find a book for his age – so he wrote one.

“I started journaling about my entrepreneurial journey. So then we just decided to turn that into a book and start selling it,” the 10-year-old said.

When Wren was younger he said he would beg his mom to always buy something out of the vending machine. Then, one day his mom said, “Son, if you get your own vending machine, all the money goes to you.”

“He shocks us with the things that he’s doing,” said Arriel Biggs, Mikey’s mom. “It’s a blessing to have a son interested in business and entrepreneurship and just having a mindset wanting the learn more about it.”

What his mother told him, stuck with him. So he did it - and then ended up writing a book about it. Mikey has a few vending machines throughout North County.

His book is titled Mikey Learns About Business and it's centered around helping other young kids become business owners.

When Mikey’s not writing or doing business stuff he’s your typical kid and loves playing. His dream is to become an NBA star, but some would already consider him a star.

"I consider myself strong. I consider myself a problem a solver,” said Mikey. “Never mind I don't consider myself…  I am a problem solver. I am strong,”

In just eight weeks he’s sold more than 600 copies of his book.

His mother said he’s already writing his next book.
