FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

A business owner in the metro east is the victim of an unlikely robbery.

She says she feels violated after her brand new air conditioner was stolen.

The theft happened at Kiddo's Closet and Clips in Fairview Heights.  The business just completed an expansion a month ago, which included the new air conditioning unit..

Jessica Butcher, the owner, said someone cut the copper pipes and electrical wiring when stealing the four-ton, $6,000 unit.

A new unit will cost $5,480, but luckily, insurance will cover the cost minus a $500 deductible.

However, that leaves a part of the business without air conditioning until insurance cuts the check and a new unit is installed.

Fairview Heights investigators believe it was stolen within the last few days.

While Butcher is left feeling frustrated and angry, police are asking the public that if they know anything to contact them immediately.
