WENTZVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police in Wentzville have a woman in custody in connection with a bank robbery August 1.

The suspect had her hair covered by a white bandana and a red bandana over her face when she showed a knife at the drive-thru of the Commerce Bank on the corner of Wentzville Parkway and West Pearce Boulevard around noon Tuesday, according to police. After showing the knife, the suspect took a money bag containing $1,095.28.

Friday morning, police identified the woman in custody as Rachael Lay. When police approached her at a restaurant in O’Fallon, Missouri, Lay reportedly did not deny the robbery but stated she did “nothing wrong.” She was also allegedly wearing a pink sports bra that matched the one worn by the bank robbery suspect.
