IMPERIAL, Mo. (KMOV.com) – An Imperial man won $10 million on a Missouri Lottery Scratchers ticket he bought from Schnucks Market in Arnold.

David Piper purchased the “$300,000,000 Golden Ticket” from a machine at the store during a July 9 trip for groceries. When he began scratching the ticket at home he got a jolt when he found out what he had won.

“The number 33 came up, and I thought, ‘Well, I won something,’” Piper said. “And when I scratched it off, I had to look at it several times before I believed what it said.”

Piper, who decided retire from the electrician job he held for more than 27 years, said he wants to buy a new home. His wife, Vickie, said she would like to visit New York City.

“I have always wanted to see Central Park, Broadway and stand in the middle of Times Square at night and see the lights. That would be one of the best things in the world to do,” she said.
