EUREKA, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

It’s not often you hear about girls playing baseball but one local 12-year-old girl is doing just that.

Skylinn Pogue plays for the Eureka Outlaws.

She is the only girl on her team and on Sunday, she was chosen to take part in her league’s all-star game.

You might say she has baseball in her blood because her father is the bullpen catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals.

In fact, her coach said she’s the first person on the team to hit an over-the-fence home-run.

“We were joking around and said hey you should play for us,” said Coach Derek Bader. “She’s been a natural ever since … she’s a full blown teammate.”

Pogue’s mother said her daughters dream is to some day play college baseball.
