ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The popular blues concert series is making a return to the Archgrounds.

The Gateway Arch Park Foundation and the National Blues Museum have teamed up to provide free summer concerts!

“These concerts bring together two things that St. Louisans love. Blues music and the Gateway Arch,” said Tom Nagel from Gateway Arch Park Foundation.

It doesn’t get much more “St.Louis” than Blues at the Arch.

During the month of August, free concerts will take over the Archgrounds every Friday evening.

On August 4, see Lil' Ray Neal Blues Band and Big George Brock. The show goes from 6:00 - 8:30.

On August 11, Carolyn Mason, Mickey Rogers, and David Dee will perform.

Blues Musician Joe Metzka and his band will perform August 18.

Metka says the Arch is very different from the venues where he usually plays, “Blues music is something you play in clubs, sometimes late at night. It’s nice to present that to a family environment where kids can come out and enjoy the music.”

The concert series will welcome a family friendly environment complete with food vendors.

“The Arch is obviously a famous national monument and we’re excited to bring this kind of music, the home of this music is here in St. Louis, down here to the arch,” said musician Joe Metzka.
