2 suspects arrested in Affton attempted armed robbery

SOUTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) -

Two suspects are facing charges for their alleged role in an attempted armed robbery at a gas station in South County.

Marty Shaw, 26, of East St. Louis is charged with resisting arrest. Antonio Taylor, 29, of Belleville, is charged with attempted robbery armed criminal action and resisting arrest.

Police say they received a call about an attempted robbery at a Circle K in the 9000 block of Gravois around 11:20 p.m. Monday.

When police arrived, they said one of the two suspects was still inside, he then allegedly fled into a blue van waiting nearby.

The car then led police on a chase, before the driver lost control and hit a police near the intersection of Villa Ridge and Reavis Road, police said. Shaw and Taylor were arrested a short time later.

Shaw is being held on a $5,000 bond. Taylor is being held on a $80,000 bond.
