St. Charles County Fair will honor fallen Laclede Gas worker fatally shot in April
WENTZVILLE, Mo. (KMOV.com) -
When the gates opened to fair attendees, they were greeted by contests, games, and usual fanfare seen at the St. Charles County Fair.
But a new aspect of the fairgrounds will be one of memorial and honor for a past fair volunteer and board member.
Small memorials can be seen around the fairgrounds during the 5-day event in honor of Alex Boschert who died earlier this year. Boschert was a Laclede Gas worker. Back in April, he was shot and killed, along with co-worker William Froelich, by a gunman while on the job in north St. Louis.
Boschert had been involved with the St. Charles County Fair since he was a boy. He volunteered and even became a board member for the fair.
Proceeds from the donation centers will go to Boschert's wife and child.
The St. Charles County Fair will run through Saturday, with daily hours running from 8:00 a.m. until midnight.
