ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Following the death of a victim, police reclassified their investigation as a homicide.

The reclassification comes comes a few days after 26 year-old Kenneth Woods-Bey was shot on Interstate 70. Woods-Bey was transported to the hospital following the shooting on July 24. He was listed in critical condition, but died on July 26.

Woods-Bey was inside a vehicle that was traveling in the westbound lanes of the interstate near Adelaide around 4 a.m. last Sunday.  That is when a silver vehicle pulled alongside and someone inside fired shots.

Three other occupants were inside the victim’s vehicle at the time of the shooting. They were not injured.

Homicide investigators have assumed the ongoing investigation.
