ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

This week’s heat has St. Louis health officials rethinking policy for horse drawn carriages.

Health officials are lowering the temperature that forces operations to stop.

Any time temperatures hit 93 degrees or higher, drivers will not be allowed to operate.

The previous threshold was 96 degrees.

Health officials will notify carriage operations any time the National Weather Service is predicting temperatures at 93 degrees or higher.
