ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO -

Customers tell News 4 a St. Charles County business took their money and failed to perform any work.

Kevin Poe of Manchester paid Mississippi Valley Exteriors $9,000 on July 21, 2016 for exterior improvements to his home.

Poe said he handed the check to Curt Darabcsek a year ago.

"In my mind, he had no intent to do the work and he has no intention of giving us our money back," said Poe.

Poe sent a letter to Darabcsek demanding his money back in March, but so far, Poe hasn't received a refund.

In Lake St. Louis, Evelyn Krazer hired Darabcsek's company over the winter expecting new siding.

Krazer said, "Paid him $7,600 back in February and never saw him again."

On social media, several individuals vented their frustrations with the company including, Amy Teets.

Teets currently lives in Colorado, but said she hired Mississippi Valley Exteriors to work on her O'Fallon, Missouri home.

Teets said Darabcsek accepted her down payment, but made numerous excuses over several months without starting the job.

After waiting eight months and threatening prosecution, Teets said Darabcsek issued a refund.

That refund was a whopping $4,000 paid in cash, according to Teets.

Mississippi Valley Exteriors continues to solicit bids for new work in St. Louis County.

A News 4 producer met with a company representative in mid-July.

The company representative told the News 4 producer the company could complete a job within two weeks of signing a contract.

Curt Darabcsek emailed saying, "I plan on taking care of the clients you are referring to. I did not do this intentionally..."

Darabcsek also said, "I didn't mean to cause any problems, and I feel terrible..." and said he's, "over my head with scheduling..."

Customers tell News 4 they expect full refunds so they can hire another company to do the job.
