A man is charged with nine counts of forgery after he allegedly cashed numerous checks from the checking account of a Culver's restaurant while he was an employee.

According to court documents, Brian Alexander wrote checks out to himself from the Culver’s restaurant on nine separate occasions.

Police said from December 31, 2016, to January 22, 2017, Alexander cashed the checks drawn out from the Meramec Valley Bank account of Jokevir Enterprises LLC Culver’s of South County.

The owner of the Culver’s restaurant at 4140 Rusty Rd. told authorities multiple checks from the restaurant’s business checking account had been and made payable and cashed to Alexander.

Alexander was arrested and confessed to stealing the checks, forging and cashing them, police said.

The suspect said he stole the money in order to pay off his personal outstanding loans, police say.
