MAPLEWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Two people are recovering from injuries after maintenance equipment collided on MetroLink tracks early Tuesday morning in Maplewood.

Just after 1 a.m., a piece of maintenance equipment from a Metro contractor came in contact with stationary equipment on the tracks at the MetroLink crossing on Sunnen Drive.

One of the injured is a Metro employee and the other is a contractor, according to Metro officials. The injuries sustained appear to be non-life threatening.

At the time of the incident, maintenance crews were working on concrete rail ties.

The overnight incident should not affect the morning operations.

Metro and the contractor company are currently investigating, a spokesperson for Metro told News 4.
