The search continues for a lone suspect who police said took a Belleville gas station for cigarettes and money during an armed robbery overnight.
The suspect, standing 5'10" and of medium build, entered the Circle K gas station around 3:15 a.m. Friday morning. The gas station was in the 5900 block of Old St. Louis Road.
The suspect took cigarettes and an unknown amount of money from the station, police said. No one was injured during the armed robbery. Police said the weapon in this case was referred to, but not displayed.
Almost a month ago, a gas station of the same name in the 8300 block of Old St. Louis Road was also struck with an armed robbery. In that incident, which took place June 20, occurred in the overnight hours as well, with the suspect in that case displaying a weapon. Like the July robbery, the suspect left with an unknown amount of money and cigarettes.
Police believe the suspects in these cases appear to be the same person, They said both suspects wore the same clothes.
The suspect wore a gray, hooded sweat-shirt with a hood up and a small, white logo in the upper left side of the shirt. He also wore a pink cloth over his mouth and khaki pants.
