FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOV.com) – An officer pulling over a car in Florissant led to a Motel 6 being damaged when the car rolled into it.

The clerk at the motel, located on Dunn Road just off Highway 270, told News 4 he was counting the drawer when he saw the car rolling down the hill. No one was inside the car when it hit the building near the front office.

Florissant Police Department officials said an officer was pulling over the suspect's car in the lot when the car went a little farther and stopped in a second lot, at which time the driver took off on foot. When the suspect left the car, he forgot to put it in park and it came down a small hill, hitting the Motel 6 building.

The suspect was caught following a short foot pursuit.

When police searched the car, they reportedly found narcotics.

No one was injured.

No other details have been released.
