Three people were injured after shots were fired outside a bar in the Patch neighborhood Thursday evening.

A 38-year-old man told police the incident began while he was fighting with the 46-year-old suspect outside the Off the Track Bar in the 7300 block of South Broadway around 9 p.m. During the altercation, the suspect showed a gun, at which time a 39-year-old man and the 38-year-old confronted him. After being confronted, the suspect fired a shot, which hit the 39-year-old in the thigh.

When the suspect fired his gun, the 38-year-old man got out a gun and exchanged gunfire with the suspect.

During the exchange of gunfire, a 34-year-old woman was shot in the head. She was taken to the hospital and listed in critical, stable condition.

The suspect later arrived at the hospital to receive treatment for gunshot wounds to the back. He was listed in stable condition.

The 39-year-old who was shot in the thigh was hospitalized in critical, stable condition.
