A man has been charged in a deadly hit and run crash that took place in November.
Prosecutors say 27-year-old Michael Griffin struck and killed Jaron Butler with his car on Hall Street near Gimblin in North St. Louis.
Police said Griffin left the scene but was later pulled over. That's when officers saw blood and damage on the car that connected him to the crash.
In November, Butler's family was left shattered by his death, especially since Butler was in the process of planning his wedding.
"He was a great father. A great friend. He'd give his last if he had it," said Drew Simmons, Butler's brother-in-law. "He's still make some type of way to give it to you.
"I feel like I'm lost without him," Simmons added. "The family feeling is lost."
Shortly after the incident, Simmons pleaded for any leads on the suspect's whereabouts.
"You would think as humans, we were born with conscience," Simmons said.
