ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Four firefighters were injured while battling separate fires that fireworks may have played a role in throughout St. Louis overnight.

A firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precaution after sustaining heat exhaustion while fighting a fire in the 5100 block of Cates.

Another firefighter reportedly sustained thermal burns from the heat of a fire in the 4100 block of Oregon.

A third firefighter was injured while fighting a fire in the 3600 block of Pennsylvania. Officials said the firefighter sustained a joint injury and was taken to the hospital.

All three firefighters are expected to make a full recovery.

A fourth firefighter was also injured. Three of the four were released from the hospital.

Fire officials told News 4 they believe fireworks were a factor in the fires.

No other details have been released.
