Thieves have ruined the Fourth of July for a Kansas veterans group.
The De Soto, Kansas VFW runs a fireworks tent as one of their biggest fundraisers of the year.
Normally, someone sleeps in the tent to keep watch, but this weekend it was too hot and thieves took advantage.
They stole more than $1,100 worth of fireworks.
"We're all frustrated because all this money we make, no one gets it in their pocket. It all goes to the community." said Mark Leisten, a member of the VFW post.
The non-profit VFW uses the money raised for service projects.
A reward is now being offered for information about the theft.
They'll pay $700 in cash and fireworks.
