Police identify decomposed body of man found in Creve Coeur park

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- Police were able to identify the body of a man found in a Creve Coeur Park in June. 

The Creve Coeur Police Department identified the man as Matthew P. Ford of Florissant, Missouri. 

The 28 year-old's body was found on June 30 around 6:00 p.m. in Malcolm Terrace Park. The already-decomposed body is believed to have been in the park since May 15, police said.

The body, already decomposed was found just after 6 p.m. in a creek bed by someone walking in the area.

The St. Louis County Medical Examiner was called to investigate.

Police have no information on the circumstances leading to the death., but they said foul play is not currently suspected.

Both the St. Louis County Medical Examiner and the Creve Coeur Police Department are part of the ongoing investigation.
