WASHINGTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Anheuser Busch teamed up with a non-profit called Folds of Honor to present a scholarship to Taylor Heldt, the daughter of a Marine who died fighting in Iraq.

Workers unloaded the Clydesdales in the parking lot of the Walmart store in Washington and drew a big crowd as they lined them up. This was a special gathering with a focus on the family of a fallen marine.

“Budweiser and Folds of Honor came together and said we need to help Taylor in her education, so today we’re going to present her with a check for $5,000,” said Rocky Sickmann of Folds of Honor.

The horses led a procession that marched a mile to the home of college sophomore Taylor Heldt. She was presented with a check to help with her college education.

“I was totally shocked, I am like still in shock, I’m freaking out, it’s amazing,” said Heldt.

Heldt’s father, Marine Lance Corporal Erik Heldt, was killed by a roadside bomb in 2005 in Ramadi, Iraq.

Heldt is attending the University of Missouri.

“They are really helping me go to college and they helped me go to a college prep school. I’m majoring in education and I would not be able to do that without the help of them,” she said.

Former Cardinal pitcher and current Cardinal broadcaster Al Hrabosky helped with the presentation.

“I think it’s absolutely amazing to do this in honor of Erik, Taylor’s a great kid going to school for elementary education Folds of Honor has been behind us for the last several,” said Gail Krete, Heldt’s Grandmother.

The organization, Folds of Honor, provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service men and women who were killed or disable while on active duty.
