A fight between two women transitioned into a stabbing in Walnut Park East overnight.
Around 1:00 a.m. on Friday, a 47 year-old woman was arguing with another woman around the same age. During their argument, a man who was with the second woman pushed the female victim down to the ground.
Then, police said the male suspect produced a knife and stabbed the woman in the forearm. A witness arrived on the scene, which caused the suspects to flee the scene. The argument-turned-stabbing occurred at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Lillian Avenue.
The victim was transported to the hospital where she is currently in stable condition. Police said she suffered a severe laceration.
The male victim is described as a man in his 30's with a thin build, while the female suspect stands around 5'4".
The investigation of the stabbing is ongoing.
