ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

College students will have the opportunity to experience a festival complete with music, speakers, and more, all without having to spend a penny.

On the first day of Lou fest this September, college students with a school ID or valid university email address will be given free admission. The free festival is being called LouFest U.

Vice President of the St. Louis Regional Chamber Greg Laposa said the festival is looking to share the wealth of resources with students.

"Leaders in the cities across the country recognize the key to economic prosperity is a strong, well-educated workforce," Laposa said. "Developing, attracting, and retaining talent is how cities compete today."

On Sept. 8, the event will gather students on the Upper Muny Grounds and Festival Plaza for live music, speakers, activities, and vendors from across the region.

LouFest U will even feature employers from top companies to share internship and career opportunities with students.
