ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – Six "persons of interest" have been identified by the St. Louis Police Department in connection to Sunday night’s fatal shooting and incident on the MetroLink.

Wednesday, police released surveillance photos of the"persons of interest" in connection to the incident.

According to police, around 11 p.m., one of the suspects’ guns discharged when he pistol-whipped a man during a fight aboard the MetroLink after he refused to give him more money. When the gun discharged, a bullet hit 57-year-old Mac Payne in the head while he was on the MetroLink platform at Stadium and 8th Street. He was pronounced dead at the hospital Tuesday.

Monday afternoon, police released a photo of another "person of interest," but Wednesday morning said they had located that person and he was no longer a person of interest.

Hours after releasing the photos of the "persons of interest," police said all six had been identified.
