TROY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A man is recovering after police said he was struck by a “samurai” sword during an argument with another man over a woman.

Police said they were called to a home in the 100 block of Carol Drive early Monday morning for a report of a traumatic injury. Once on the scene, police said they located a man with a large cut to his arm.

The victim and a witness told police he was attacked by Miciah Lee Chamberlain during an argument over a woman. The victim told police he was shot earlier with a BB Gun, but was not injured. Later, Chamberlain allegedly approached the man with the sword and struck him with it.

A witness stated to police Chamberlain came to the victim's apartment and said, "I'm going to cut you."

The victim reportedly told officers he thought the sword was fake, so he didn’t retreat during the attack.

News 4 has learned the victim suffered severed tendons in his arm, which caused the loss of function in his thumb and three other fingers. He will need surgery to repair the injuries.

Chamberlain reportedly returned to his apartment to hide the sword following the attack. Police tried to contact Chamberlain inside the apartment, but were unsuccessful at first. Chamberlain was later found under a coach inside his apartment with the sword.

Police said he later admitted to attacking the victim.

He was eventually arrested by officers with the Troy Police Department. Three edged weapons and the BB gun were later retrieved by police from Chamberlain's apartment.

The victim was transported to a hospital for treatment.

Chamberlain is charged with assault and armed criminal action.
