ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A new agreement has been reached and the boycott against Schnucks is now over thanks to approval of a new contract.

After a vote of 78-16, the Teamsters Local 668 voted to approve a new 5-year contract, which covers 102 members of Schnucks Bridgeton Warehouse. This agreement comes just four months before the current contract was due to expire.

The Local 668 also agreed to end the boycott of Schnucks locations.

Among several items, the new contract includes increased company-paid healthcare benefit contributions over the life of the contract, as well as increased healthcare contributions to retirees. The contract also states Schnucks will maintain company-paid pension fund contributions.

Schnucks Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck said the business' goal is to reach a "win-win" between teamster members and the communities they serve.

“We are pleased that we were able to work with Local 688’s bargaining team to negotiate an early agreement that’s an important win for both parties and represents progress," Schnuck said.
