GLEN CARBON, Ill. (KMOV.com) --- A neighbor's surveillance video captured some of the events that occurred outside a Glen Carbon home during the early morning hours Thursday.

Around 5:15 a.m., a fire broke out at a home on Dogwood Lane, and less than a half hour later, an SUV seen leaving the home was found in Silver Lake in Highland.

The surveillance video shows a vehicle leaving the home and then minutes later a flash of the fire is seen, followed by children running from the area.

According to police, six children were inside the home when the fire occurred. Two of the children ran to a nearby Walmart for help.

One person inside the home was pronounced dead. A woman, Cristy Campbell, who lives at the home was later found dead in Silver Lake.

A seventh child, described as being a 3-month-old, was rescued from the submerged vehicle in Silver Lake and is expected to be okay.
