More than 7,800 flights have been cancelled across the United States due to snow hitting the Northeast.

Southwest Airlines wasn’t expecting to operate any flights at 14 airports from Washington D.C. to Portland, Maine. The airline company cancelled 900 flights.

American Airlines, JetBlue, and United each cancelled more than 500 flights.

Aleinna Mehrmann had no trouble traveling from Lambert Airport to the west coast for her husband’s graduation from basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, but her mother-in-law had major trouble.

“She’s going to try but we don’t really know, whether the weather will allow her to get out on Thursday and leave on Friday,” said Mehrmann.

Mehrmann said it’s unclear if her mother-in-law will be able to see her son’s graduation.
