The Parkway School District is teaming with local business leaders to help high school students gain real world knowledge.
The effort is known as the Spark Program, a chance for students to work with the latest lab equipment at the Danforth Plant Science Center in Creve Coeur. Parkway uses the lab as part of an agreement with St. Louis Community College.
"We've had companies tell us that when they employ our students, that they literally save two years in training," said Richard Norris with St. Louis Community College.
Since 2008, St. Louis Community College has used more than $4 million in grant funding to equip the lab with the latest technology.
