BERKELEY (KMOV.com) -

A police officer who was put on administrative leave in connection to the Monica Sykes disappearance no longer works for Berkeley police.

The city of Berkeley confirmed Monday that Robert Howard no longer worked for the police department as of March 9.

Sykes disappeared on October 27, 2016. Police believe she was last seen leaving her home, getting into a white car. The night before she went missing, she spent the night at Howard’s home.

Interim Berkeley Police Chief Art Jackson declined to comment on Howard Monday.
