ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Experts say the expected weekend freeze will just be temporary setback for many plants.

Nursery owners and farmers said the warm weather in February hit several weeks early, but it is not unusual to have cold weather in March. The owner of Garden Heights Nursery, Louis D’Agrosa, said fully opened blooms will be hurt.

Workers at Garden Heights were busy on Friday bringing plants inside.. D’Agrosa suggests people do that, and use an old blanket or sheet to cover plants that can’t be moved and small trees.

D’Agrosa added that plants that are just budding now can survive a freeze that last a few days.
