COLLINSVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Two 20-year-old’s are being called heroes after helping to rescue a Collinsville woman from a burning home.

Friday night, Jared Grzywacz and Collin Fenton were doing their normal tradition of driving to Grzywacz's brother's house to watch the Blues game on TV.

Grzywacz said they made a last second decision to skip a red-light and turned down a side street.

Little did they know that decision would take them straight to where a house fire was unfolding on South Hesperia Street.

They saw flames and heard someone yelling that they couldn’t find their grandma. The boys looped around and jumped out. They helped to pull an 88-year-old woman through a window.

Grzywacz told News 4 they put the woman in their car and turned on the heat until they could take her to a neighbor’s home.

The guys got to listen to the end of the Blues game on the radio as firefighters finished their work. The Blues later announced the two will be the club's guest at Friday night's home game against the Anaheim Ducks.

The woman’s neighbor said there’s no doubt the two are heroes.

“Think about it what’s the odds of two young strangers never going down that street having enough compassion to stop and help somebody,” said Michael Hensler.

Hensler has lived in the neighborhood for decades and said the 88-year-old woman is always helping people out and it’s great that the two men were there to help her when she needed it.

“That’s a miracle,” said Hensler, “What’s the odds of that? It means that somebody cares.”

The woman's son said she is doing just fine.

Collinsville Fire Department said the fire is still under investigation.
