PERRYVILLE, Mo (KMOV.com) – Days after a tornado ripped through Perryville Tuesday night, thousands of people from across the country came to lend a helping hand to the victims of that tornado.

“What’s incredible is to just see all the people out there helping, just really seeing the community come together it’s very, very inspiring and just hopeful,” said Colleen Smyth of Catholic Charities of St. Louis.

Smyth and her team at Catholic Charities of St. Louis are just one of nearly 25 groups with the Multi-Agency Resource Center giving the basic needs to tornado victims.

Families that were affected by the tornado were given the opportunity to get free debris removal, insurance and emergency financial assistance.
