O'FALLON, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

The O’Fallon, Illinois School Board voted Tuesday to cut $1 million from its budget for next school year.

The board voted to cut eight teachers and one administrative position. It did not vote to cut any sports, but did vote to raise athletic fees from $100 to 175 per student.

District officials also committed to exhaust all money from reserves over the next five years to offset budget deficits.

The district is facing a shortfall from both declining tax revenue and declining state funding.
