WASHINGTON, D.C. (KMOV.com) -

The widow of St. Louis County Police Officer Blake Snyder will attend President Donald Trump's Congressional address Tuesday night.

Elizabeth Snyder said, "This is an amazing honor. I was shocked when I got the call saying they are inviting us out."

Snyder was invited by Illinois Congressman Rodney Davis, and Missouri Congresswoman Ann Wagner.

Both lawmakers are hoping Snyder can share her story with the President.

"I would love to share Blake's story," Snyder told News 4 on Tuesday afternoon.

Snyder will attend the address with her brother, St. Louis County officer Justin Sparks.

Sparks told News 4, "We're constantly facing the threat of ambush, people are going to target me because of the badge we wear."

He said it's important to have support from lawmakers and the president, and he appreciates the opportunity to attend tonight's address.

Both Sparks and Snyder are hoping to hear the president talk about plans to keep law enforcement officers safe on the job.
