People allowed back in St. Louis County Justice Center after threat

CLAYTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – People are being allowed back in the St. Louis County Justice Center after a threat Tuesday.

The St. Louis County Police Department confirmed evacuations took place after a threat at the building in the 100 block of South Central in Clayton around 11:10 a.m. Ed Magee, a spokesman for the St. Louis County prosecutor, told News 4 the prosecutor's office was evacuated, but the inmates were not.

About 20 minutes after police responded to the threat, people were allowed back in the building.

Around noon, the Clayton Police Department issued the following statement regarding the threat:

A threat was made.  It was forwarded to St. Louis County.  They made the necessary evacuations.  Clayton PD was on scene maintaining the scene, street closure, and pedestrian traffic.  Once the building was deemed safe, people were allowed to re-enter.

No other information regarding the threat has been made available.
