BELLEFONTAINE NEIGHBORS (KMOV.com) -

Bellefontaine Neighbors police are searching for the three men who fired at least 50 shots into a home in the 9300 block of Duenke Drive Thursday evening.

Neighbor, Maureen Curtis described the sound of the gunfire. "Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. It almost sounded like a damn Gatling gun."

Lieutenant Shawn Applegate told News 4 that two men who were in the home at the time weren't hurt.

Neighbors said two Molotov cocktails were thrown through front windows but failed to ignite. They describe the neighborhood as usually quiet, but say this crime has them frightened.

"We have never ever, I mean never, not ever since I've been here had nothing like that last night, and it scared me to death," said Curtis.

Bellefontaine Neighbors Alderwoman Alease Dailes said there's been an uptick in violence recently in her community, but she's vowing to fight back against those responsible.

Dailes said, "We have a really, really good strong community and it's not fair to people who take care of their property and want to stay in a good community. It's not fair for them to live in fear, so we're going to fight it."

She said she's organizing a meeting for next week with the police chief, mayor and concerned citizens to formulate a plan to fight crime.
