Three motorcyclists rushed to hospital after serious crash

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Three motorcyclists were treated for serious injuries after colliding on Highway 64 Friday morning.

Officials responded to the crash around 11 a.m., police said a large group of motorcyclists were traveling close together eastbound on Highway 64 when the car in front of them slowed down for an unknown reason.

When the car slowed speed, the three men in Harley Davidson motorcycles collided in a chain reaction type crash. The riders were ejected from the motorcycles. All the riders were wearing helmets.

Authorities said the car was not involved in the accident.

One of the victims, a 33-year-old man was flown immediately to a regional hospital with life threatening injuries. Another victim, a 30-year-old man, was rushed to a local hospital. The third victim, 24, was treated on the scene and then released.

The current condition of the three patients is unclear at this time.

Highway 64 remains closed.
