Large brush fire in De Soto spreads to third alarm

DE SOTO, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A large brush fire has spread to a third alarm near De Soto, Missouri.

Fire officials in De Soto said the fire is in the area of 430 Lembeck Trail, just outside De Soto, in Jefferson County.

No injuries have been reported, and as of now no homes are at risk, but fire crews warned it is a fluid situation.

Winds in the area are said to be gusting upwards of 25 miles per hour. The area is in a Red Flag Warning.

A brush fire is also burning in St. Charles County. Dan Casey with St. Charles County Fire Department said the fire near Silvers Road and Salt River Road has spread to more than twenty acres. St. Charles County Fire is assisting Central County Fire in the effort to extinguish the fire.
