City continues talks with law firm thinking about leaving downtown due to crime

Concerns over crime are still a topic of discussion between St. Louis city leaders and the law firm of Brown & Crouppen.

"We've been meeting people non stop," says Andy Crouppen, who tells News 4 the firm has talked with the mayor, the police chief and candidates for mayor after it said it thinking about moving out of downtown due to concerns about crime.

Police Chief Sam Dotson says he knows the solution.

"The mayor and I have been talking for the last two and a half years about adding police officers,"  Dotson says.

The stumbling block has always been how to pay for more officers and increase their pay.

Crouppen says while some of his employees are worried about crime, the firm is looking for reasons to stay downtown.

"My goal is to push people into talking about it more," Crouppen says.
