Then, 10 minutes later, 30-year-old Dwayne Gibbs was found lying on the pavement in the 4700 block of Bircher with gunshot wounds. Police said Gibbs was pronounced dead on the scene.

The first shooting on Saturday occurred just before 6 p.m. According to police, the 25-year-old man was driving on Dr. Martin Luther King when another vehicle began chasing him and someone inside fired gunshots at him. The victim was shot in the thigh and listed in stable condition after contacting police in the 2300 block of Clara.

A little over 30 minutes later, a 49-year-old man was transported to the hospital after being shot in the arm in the 3100 block of Halliday Avenue. He was taken to the hospital and listed in critical, but stable condition.

Less than an hour later, a 24-year-old man was shot by an acquaintance he had just met inside a residence in the 100 block of Eichelberger. The suspect was later taken into custody and police recovered a gun, numerous pills, suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Around 8:30 p.m. a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were driving in the 1500 block of Chouteau when they were shot by someone in a passing vehicle. Police said the man suffered a minor graze wound to his side, and the woman was shot in the hand.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical, stable condition.

Around the same time, police responded to the 1000 block of Hornsby, where a 29-year-old man had been shot several times in his back and lower body. He was taken to the hospital in critical, unstable condition. Police said it is possible a known suspect shot the victim.
