ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A group of kids gave up their Saturday to put a smile on dozens of military soldiers’ faces.

The St. Louis County Rockets raised money to buy lip balms, toothbrushes, and various foods for troops overseas.

Katherine Davis, the Rockets’ goalie, made a special box with a letter for “Tracy” because they share a unique bond.

"My box is for a goalie who just went to the military and she loves skittles so I'm packing her lots of skittles and I can tell she's very nice,” said Katherine.

The care boxes will support military families before, during, and after their deployments.
