EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Two suspects allegedly connected to a bank robbery in Collinsville were arrested near the Eads Bridge Friday afternoon.

Police believe a man walked into a Regions Bank on Eastport Drive in Collinsville around 11:30 a.m., approached a teller and demanded money, while holding his hand in his pocket to imply he had a gun.

The teller then backed away and the man reached over the counter and grabbed some money. He then allegedly left the bank and got into a nearby red Kia, which someone else was occupying.

The two suspect were later spotted, and allegedly led police on a chase. They crashed near the Eads Bridge, and were taken into custody.

Both suspects were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
