O’FALLON, Ill. (KMOV.com) – The O’Fallon, Illinois Township High School was on lockdown after a bank robbery in the area Thursday afternoon.

School officials said the police department ordered them be on a soft lockdown after a US Bank on Lincoln Avenue was robbed nearby shortly after 1 p.m.

Less than an hour after the lockdown was put in place, it was lifted and police advised the school it could return back to business as usual.

The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. Police believe he may be in dark colored, mid-size SUV similar to a Dodge Durango. He is still at large and considered armed and dangerous.
