CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A driver and passenger connected to a shooting in St. Louis City allegedly fled the scene of an accident in Chesterfield Tuesday afternoon; the driver was arrested.

Police said the two were involved in a shooting somewhere in St. Louis City before they drove into Chesterfield.

They allegedly got into an accident near the intersection of Baxter and Clarkson around 5:15 p.m., but police say they fled the scene.

Their car was later stopped by officers near the intersection of Wilson and Baxter; the driver was arrested right away on suspicion of a DUI and for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident. Police then found the passenger along the side of the road.

Officers said the passenger was shot in the arm and was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
